Hospital Metropolitano in Várzea Grande opens outpatient doors at 6 a.m. for early‑arriving patients

Hospital Metropolitano in Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso, began opening its outpatient clinic at 6 a.m., an hour earlier than before. The change was made to allow patients from interior towns, who travel early, to wait inside the facility rather than in outdoor queues.

Patient Zilma Dolores de Lima, a 63‑year‑old retired journalist from Colíder, praised the move, saying the staff shows “sensitivity and concern for the well‑being of each person.” Hospital director Cristiane de Oliveira explained that the earlier opening was instituted after ambulatory services resumed in April 2022, noting that most patients arrive very early and the adjustment helps protect them from exposure.

The hospital expects the initiative to improve comfort, dignity and overall care for its community.
