Hospital Néstor Kirchner reaches 18 bone marrow transplants in 2026
Hospital Néstor Kirchner has reached a milestone in its hematology-oncology service, completing 18 bone marrow transplants so far in 2026. This brings the institution's total to 45 transplants to date.
During an institutional visit, Siprosa medical executive secretary Miguel Ferre Contreras and hospital director Alejandra Vargas noted a production increase of over 30% compared to the previous year. The hospital is successfully implementing a Major Ambulatory Surgery (CMA) model, which allows patients to undergo procedures and return home on the same day.
To optimize resources, the facility has expanded its surgical capacity by introducing afternoon shifts, a move that has reportedly helped nearly triple the number of surgeries performed. The hospital currently conducts between 700 and 750 surgeries per month, covering specialties such as traumatology, plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, phlebology, and urology.
