Hospital Perrando error leads to mistaken death report

A family from Puerto Tirol experienced a significant medical error at the Hospital Perrando in Resistencia, Argentina. After being notified that their 96-year-old aunt, Ramona Trinidad Giménez, had passed away due to pneumonia, the family prepared for her funeral services.

Upon opening the casket in the early hours of the morning, the family discovered that the body inside was not their relative, but another woman named Susana Romero. Ramona Giménez is actually still alive and remains hospitalized with a serious case of pneumonia.

The family returned to the hospital with the funeral service provider and requested police intervention. The physician who signed the death certificate reportedly contacted the family to apologize for the error. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding identification protocols and morgue controls at the facility.
