Hospital Príncipe de Asturias expands ICU visiting hours

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias in Alcalá de Henares has expanded its visiting hours to improve patient care and emotional well-being. Visitors are now permitted daily from 12:00 to 20:00, split into two shifts: 12:00 to 16:00 and 16:00 to 20:00. Up to two companions are allowed per patient during each shift.

This initiative is part of a broader humanization strategy aimed at reducing anxiety for critically ill patients and facilitating closer communication between medical staff and families. The hospital has also recently implemented policies to allow minors to accompany family members and to provide more humanized support during end-of-life situations.
