Hospital Regional de Ciudad del Este transfers infants due to flea infestation

Five infants were transferred from the neonatology ward of the Hospital Regional de Ciudad del Este to a general surgery ward after a flea infestation forced the closure of the sector. The move was necessary to allow for total disinfection and fumigation of the area.

Reports indicate the hospital facility suffers from structural issues, including leaks and humidity. Dr. Lea Acevedo noted that a recent sewage pipe burst caused nauseating odors to spread throughout the medical center.
