Hospital Ricardo Valenzuela Sáez implements neuroinclusive care for ASD
The Ricardo Valenzuela Sáez Hospital in Rengo has implemented new neuroinclusive care initiatives aimed at improving medical services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Led by the Humanization Unit, the program provides specialized tools to pediatric, emergency, and surgical teams to foster more empathetic and respectful environments.
Hospital Director Margarita Yercic Bravo stated that the goal is to ensure hospital visits are welcoming experiences, reducing fear and difficulty for neurodivergent patients. The initiative focuses on helping staff understand how different individuals perceive and respond to environmental stimuli to provide more inclusive care.
