Hospital Santo Antônio begins new tower construction in Blumenau
Construction has reached a new milestone at Hospital Santo Antônio in Blumenau, with the completion of the first slab for its new tower. The operation required approximately 37 trucks to pour 291 cubic meters of concrete.
The expansion project represents an investment of R$ 98 million, funded by the Government of Santa Catarina. The new structure will add over 11,000 square meters of built area across 10 floors. Key features of the expansion include the addition of 132 to 150 new beds (including 10 ICU beds), four new operating rooms, 20 anesthetic recovery beds, a hemodynamics unit, a helipad, and a new Sterilized Material Center.
In addition to the new tower, the project includes renovations to the general reception and the expansion of support and supply areas. State Health Secretary Diogo Demarchi noted that the expansion will benefit not only Blumenau but the entire region served by the hospital.
