Hospital services update in Poland

The St. Raphael Provincial Specialist Hospital in Czerwona Góra conducted its annual fire drill and evacuation exercise on October 23, 2026. The drill focused on Building D, which houses administrative offices, the Medical Rehabilitation Department, and the hospital clinic. The simulation included a controlled smoke scenario involving a fire in a third-floor server room and the discovery of a suspicious object to test bomb threat response protocols.

Emergency services, including the State Fire Service and Police, participated in the exercise to test evacuation procedures for staff and patients, specifically focusing on those requiring extra assistance. The drill is part of the hospital's accreditation process to ensure safety standards.

In a separate development, a new chemotherapy ward has commenced operations at the hospital in Kozle. The facility features 18 stations for daytime treatment, allowing cancer patients to receive therapy closer to home. The ward's launch followed a series of funding negotiations with the National Health Fund (NFZ). While initial discussions regarding contract values caused local debate, officials clarified that approximately 107,000 PLN is allocated monthly for the contract, with 48,000 PLN specifically designated for staff salaries.
