Hospital Unimed Meio Oeste in Brazil Earns ONA Level 1 Accreditation

The Hospital Unimed Meio Oeste, located in Joaçaba, Santa Catarina, received Level 1 accreditation from Brazil's Organização Nacional de Acreditação (ONA). The certification confirms the hospital meets strict patient‑safety and quality standards for both infrastructure and clinical care.

Less than 6% of Brazilian hospitals hold any ONA certification, and only 15 of the 313 hospitals in Santa Catarina have earned the Level 1 seal. The accreditation, valid for two years, follows independent technical audits that assess everything from reception flows to medical procedures, standardising the institution’s processes and enhancing risk‑control for the regional population.
