Hospital Virgen de Altagracia emergency area flooded in Manzanares

The Central Sindical Independiente y de Funcionarios (CSIF) has denounced the management of the Hospital Virgen de Altagracia in Manzanares following a new flood in the emergency department. Heavy rainfall caused the area to flood, forcing a temporary halt to medical services to allow for cleaning and water removal.

The union highlighted that this is a recurring issue, noting similar flooding incidents occurred in 2007 and 2009. Despite warnings from AEMET and the activation of the Meteocam alert plan by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, the facility remains vulnerable. CSIF pointed out that the need for structural improvements to the drainage system was identified as far back as 2008, yet no definitive solution has been implemented 18 years later.
