Hospitality design trends: The rise of ‘fake premium’ and acoustic solutions
Barbara Łukasiak, founder of Fovere and commercial director at Muraspec, has criticized the trend of ‘fake premium’ in the hospitality industry. She argues that many investors prioritize visual aesthetics for social media over essential guest comfort, specifically neglecting acoustics. Łukasiak notes that while luxury interiors may feature expensive decorations, a lack of sound management can make spaces like restaurants and hotels unbearable for guests.
To address these acoustic needs, Fovere’s acoustic felt solutions are being implemented in various Polish hospitality projects. At the Barceló Warsaw Powiśle hotel, custom PET felt vertical slats are used in corridors, near elevators, and in conference rooms to reduce reverberation. In Wrocław, Hotel Qubus utilizes decorative felt panels behind bed headboards, combining acoustic benefits with aesthetic elements like V-cut patterns and peach tones to enhance interior design.
