Hospitality expansion continues in India with new luxury hotel openings
The hospitality sector in India is seeing significant expansion, particularly in the luxury and boutique segments. Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of Tree of Life Himalaya in Hartola, Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of nearly 7,000 feet, the resort features six rooms designed in traditional mountain architectural styles and offers nature-focused experiences such as guided walks, birdwatching, and local culinary sessions.
In a separate development, United Hospitality Management (UHM) has secured management agreements with IHG Hotels & Resorts to operate three new luxury properties in India over the next three years. These additions include the Garner Corbett and voco Kanatal in Uttarakhand, and the Garner Ahmedabad in Gujarat. These new units will add 182 rooms to UHM’s portfolio, supporting the company’s long-term goal of managing over 100 hotels across the country.
