Hospitality expansions announced in Algarve and Alentejo

The Portuguese hospitality sector is seeing new developments in the Algarve and Alentejo regions. Octant Praia Verde has announced the opening of the Praia Collection in Castro Marim, Algarve. This new building features 19 contemporary rooms and suites spread across three floors, including several units with private pools on the rooftop and direct access to an exclusive adult pool on the ground floor.

The facility includes a wellness area with four treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool, a sauna, and a Turkish bath, alongside a gym equipped with Technogym technology. The project also features renovated dining spaces, including the À TERRA restaurant, which focuses on local ingredients from the eastern Algarve.

In the Alentejo region, the Pestana Hotel Group has commenced construction on the Pestana Porto Covo Beach Residences near Praia Grande. This residential project occupies approximately eight hectares and follows the Pestana Residences model, which combines property ownership with professional tourism management. The development, designed by the Gonçalo Salazar de Sousa studio, emphasizes low-density construction and integration with the natural landscape, utilizing only 57% of the total area for building to prioritize gardens and outdoor spaces.
