Córdoba officials meet FIA President to discuss return of World Rally Championship
The Governor of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, met with the President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Mohammed Ben Sulayem, in Buenos Aires to advance efforts to bring the World Rally Championship (WRC) back to the province.
During the meeting, which took place during the FIA American Congress, Llaryora highlighted Córdoba’s extensive experience in organizing high-level international sporting events and its robust infrastructure. The discussions included key figures such as César Carman, President of the Automóvil Club Argentino, and Jean-Louis Mosca, CEO of Cosmobilis, the group that recently acquired WRC Promoter.
Provincial officials, including Chief of Staff Manuel Calvo, expressed confidence in the province’s readiness to host a WRC event, specifically targeting the 2027 season. The initiative involves coordinated work between the provincial government, the private sector, and various motorsport entities to secure a date on the global rally calendar.
