Serra Gaúcha hospitality sector sees major investments and developments

The hospitality and tourism sectors in the Serra Gaúcha region of Brazil are seeing significant developments. The Grande Hotel Canela is celebrating its 110th anniversary with infrastructure investments, including a R$ 1.5 million revitalization of its pool area and a strategic repositioning focused on guest experience.

In Canela, a new R$ 130 million wellness-focused hotel, Niv Wellness Residence, is planned for launch in early 2027 near Caracol Park. The project, expected to create 200 jobs, will feature 121 apartments and amenities such as cryotherapy and meditation spaces. Additionally, GAV has inaugurated its first hotel in Gramado, with two more projects in preparation.

Regional leaders also met at the 5th Tresco Gourmet in Três Coroas to discuss receptive tourism. The panel emphasized the importance of destination identity, gastronomy, and regional integration to strengthen the local tourism ecosystem.
