Hospitality sector faces challenges with technology integration

The hospitality industry is facing a critical transition toward technological integration to improve operational efficiency and meet guest expectations. While many hotels have adopted various digital tools—including management systems, guest experience platforms, connectivity, access controls, and energy automation—a significant challenge remains in preventing information silos.

Julien Soler of Vingcard | ASSA ABLOY notes that the primary difficulty is not necessarily adding more tools, but ensuring existing ones function as an integrated system. According to IDeaS, 54% of hoteliers report difficulties in integrating their technologies. When systems fail to communicate, it creates friction in the guest experience, such as digital check-ins that still require manual room access, and reduces the effectiveness of energy automation and housekeeping management.
