Hospitality sector sees shifts in institutional investment and options trading

Institutional investors have shown significant activity regarding major hospitality companies. Citizens Financial Group Inc. established a new position in Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. during the second quarter, purchasing 3,145 shares valued at approximately $1,039,000.

Other major firms have also adjusted their holdings in Hilton Worldwide. BlackRock Inc. acquired a new position worth roughly $6.27 billion in the second quarter, while Geode Capital Management LLC, Franklin Resources Inc., Bank of America Corp DE, and Price T Rowe Associates Inc. all increased their existing stakes in the company.

In a separate development, Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. experienced a surge in options trading activity. Investors purchased 3,201 put options on Monday, representing a 128% increase over the typical daily volume of 1,402 put options. During the same period, the company's stock price decreased by $0.30 to $22.59.
