Hospitals implement AI training and telemedicine pilots
Healthcare institutions in South Korea and Greece are implementing new technological initiatives to improve patient care through artificial intelligence and remote diagnostics.
At Asan Medical Center in South Korea, a new eight-week intensive training program has been established to upskill medical and IT staff in generative AI tools. The curriculum focuses on practical applications, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and model context protocol (MCP), to help healthcare workers bridge the gap between AI theory and real-world hospital utility. Research indicates the program significantly improved participant self-efficacy.
In Greece, the Nursing Institution of the Army Share Fund (NIMTS) is piloting telemedicine and AI-driven triage. The telemedicine initiative uses portable diagnostic kits to allow doctors to conduct remote examinations for bedridden or mobility-impaired patients in their homes. Simultaneously, the hospital is testing AI algorithms within its Emergency Department to assist doctors in assessing the urgency of incoming cases.
