Hospitals in Chile and Uruguay invest in oncology upgrades
The Hospital Clínico San Borja Arriarán (HCSBA) has invested over $1.55 billion in high-tech medical equipment. During 2026, the facility incorporated 92 new pieces of equipment, with 89% of the budget—exceeding $1.3 billion—dedicated to the institutional oncology network. This investment included 66 highly specialized devices for cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as clinical equipment and home ventilators for the pediatric service.
In Dolores, the Municipal Hospital San Roque has begun an integral renovation of its oncology ward. The project, funded by the municipality, aims to improve facilities, patient privacy, and comfort while incorporating new technology. The renovation is intended to optimize care conditions and increase the capacity to treat patients, serving a population where a significant portion of oncology patients lacks private health insurance.
