Hotazhell wins Irish Champion Stakes at 50-1 odds

Hotazhell secured a major upset victory in the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes (Gr. 1) at Leopardstown, Ireland. Entering the race with 50-1 betting odds, the horse, trained by Jessica Harrington and ridden by jockey Shane Foley, defeated the favorites in a close finish.

Hotazhell won by a nose over Wimbledon Hawkeye, while the heavy favorite, Constitution River, finished third. The winning time for the 2,000-meter turf race was 2:02.53. This victory earns Hotazhell a direct qualification for the Breeders’ Cup Turf, scheduled to take place in Kentucky, USA, this October.
