Hotel acquisitions reported in Freistadt and Salzburg

Several hotel acquisitions are taking place in Austria. In Freistadt, the Hochreiter-Gruppe from Bad Leonfelden has completed a full takeover of the four-star Hotel Freigold. Previously acting as an investor and strategic partner, the group, led by Wolfgang and Petra Hochreiter, will now manage all operational business. The existing 80-person staff will be retained under a new leadership team including Leopold Tröls and Alexander Mitgutsch.

In Salzburg, the German hotel chain Motel One has taken over the Hyperion Hotel in the Andräviertel district following the insolvency of the previous owner, the Revo-Gruppe. The transition affects approximately 25 employees. While the takeover is classified as a transfer of undertaking under labor law, questions remain regarding how Motel One’s typically low-budget business model will integrate with the former five-star establishment’s services and existing restaurant operations.
