Hotel Bayerischer Hof ends ties with Ludwig von Mises Institut

The Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich has terminated its cooperation with the Ludwig von Mises Institut Deutschland following its 14th annual conference. The decision came after documented statements by association representatives regarding anarcho-capitalism, a philosophy advocating for the removal of the state and democracy.

During the conference, which hosted approximately 200 guests, President Thorsten Polleit identified “socialists, Marxists, communists, and globalists” as adversaries. Reports indicate that journalists from the Abendzeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung were denied entry, while outlets such as Junge Freiheit were accredited. Notable attendees included former FDP leader Michael Ruoff and AfD expert Philipp Bagus.

The institute has reportedly received funding from billionaire August von Finck junior. In response to the event, members of the Bavarian State Parliament are calling for consequences. Green Party politician Cemal Bozoglu has proposed an investigation into the association’s non-profit status and a potential ban, while SPD politician Florian von Brunn criticized the Interior Ministry’s previous response as “completely insufficient.”
