Hotel de la Poste in Cortina d'Ampezzo changes ownership

The Hotel de la Poste, the oldest establishment in the Olympic town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, has been sold to the Vacchi industrial family from Bologna. This marks the first change in ownership for the historic Dolomite hotel in over two centuries, as it was previously held by the Manaigo and Esposito families.

The new owners plan to undergo a radical renovation to transform the property into a five-star luxury hotel.

Since its founding in 1804, the hotel has hosted numerous high-profile figures, including Ernest Hemingway, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, King Hussein of Jordan, and the Swedish royal family. It also gained international recognition following the 1956 Winter Olympics and served as a filming location for the 1983 film ‘Vacanze di Natale’.
