Hotel Gołębiewski in Pobierowo boosts seasonal wages and jobs in Poland’s coastal region

The five‑star Gołębiewski hotel opened in Pobierowo on the Baltic coast in June, becoming the largest resort complex in Poland with a water park and multiple dining outlets. Its launch prompted a transfer of staff from nearby hotels and guesthouses, which the Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szczecin described as a “game changer” for the local labour market.

Employers in the West Pomeranian region now report intensified competition for seasonal workers, especially in gastronomy and hotel service roles. Hourly pay for seasonal staff has risen to roughly 30‑35 zł, plus bonuses or tips in the food‑service sector. The hotel alone hired hundreds of employees, prompting wage pressure that has spread across the whole coastal strip.

Job vacancies in hospitality remain abundant, with 35 % of all seasonal offers in the area related to gastronomy. Applicants per vacancy have increased by about 12 % despite a 15 % year‑on‑year drop in overall offers, reflecting higher demand for qualified staff. The hiring surge also extends to ancillary positions such as transport, construction, shop assistants, animators and lifeguards.
