Hotel Green Ocean Zanzibar reopens after extensive design upgrade

Hotel Green Ocean Zanzibar, a boutique eco‑lodge on the east coast of Zanzibar, has reopened following a two‑month renovation that introduced an "Organic Tropical Design" concept. Founder Melanie Sitter said the redesign embraces "organic, earthy façades in rose, sand and terracotta tones" and blends tropical architecture with Mediterranean earth aesthetics. The upgrade includes new terracotta‑colored façades, revamped pool and lounge areas, open indoor‑outdoor spaces, a BBQ area, a fire‑pit, and handcrafted natural‑material interiors.

In addition to the reopening, the hotel announced the inaugural "ASILI FREQUENCIES" event scheduled for 19 July 2026. The programme will feature yoga, live sound healing, and Afro‑Jay performances, aiming to combine movement, music, and the island’s natural setting.

The hotel now offers six exclusive accommodations – three Boho Jungle Villas with private roof terraces and three Tropical Jungle Rooms with gardens and outdoor jacuzzis – alongside a treehouse spa and access to a nearby Sacred Cave, enhancing its appeal to eco‑tourism and wellness travelers.
