Hotel Lucile opens in converted Silver Lake church

A historic 95-year-old church in Los Angeles’s Silver Lake neighborhood has been converted into Hotel Lucile, a 25-room boutique property. Located at the former Bethany Presbyterian Church, the renovation by Casetta Hotels preserves architectural features such as stained-glass windows and soaring chapel arches.

The property features Sous Sous, a 120-seat restaurant led by executive chef Patrick Costa of De La Nonna. The menu blends French cuisine with Southern hospitality and Californian ingredients, offering dishes such as bouillabaisse, bluefin tuna crudo, and oyster preparations.

Hotel amenities include a mezzanine lounge in the former choir loft, an on-site library curated in partnership with Skylight Books, and a rooftop garden used for herbs. The hotel also offers high-end comforts such as Aesop bath products and Parachute linens.
