Hotel New Otani expands midnight pool hours as night‑pool trend surges in Japan

Tokyo’s Hotel New Otani will run a "Midnight Pool" at its Garden Pool from August 7, 2026, extending hours to 24:00 on selected Fridays and Saturdays. The event features DJ performances, daily guest bartenders and premium Tanqueray No. TEN gin‑based cocktails, with a line‑up that includes Captain Vinyl, DJ Kawasaki & Shacho, and others.

At Yomiuriland amusement park, the "Pool WAI" night‑pool program runs from July 11 to the end of August and early September, offering LED‑lit photo spots, float‑ring rentals, a bubble oasis pool and new food stalls. Attendance has risen each year—74,000 in 2023, 82,000 in 2024 and 101,000 in 2025—driven by cooler evening temperatures and the appeal to couples and young women.
