Hotel occupancy rates rise across Mexican tourist destinations

Tourism sectors in various Mexican destinations are reporting significant hotel occupancy levels. In Los Cabos, the Los Cabos Hotel Association estimates October will close with 63% occupancy. However, projections for November and December are stronger, with expected rates exceeding 70% and potentially reaching 74%, nearing 2025 levels. Average nightly rates in the area remain around $500.

In the state of Guerrero, general hotel occupancy reached 66.3%. Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo led the state with 80.3% occupancy, followed by Taxco at 68.9% and Acapulco at 64.3%. Regional activity has been bolstered by cultural events related to Day of the Dead and sporting competitions, such as the Bahía Street Games and the Carrera Xtrail México.
