Hotel Principe di Savoia unveils new cocktails for centenary
The Principe Bar at Milan’s Hotel Principe di Savoia, part of the Dorchester Collection, has unveiled a new selection of eight signature cocktails as part of its ‘Road to 2027’ project. This initiative celebrates the hotel’s upcoming centenary in 2027.
Designed by Bar Manager Daniele Celli, the new drink list serves as a liquid timeline covering the years 1975 to 2026. Each cocktail is inspired by significant cultural, musical, or sporting milestones. Notable creations include ‘Wish You Were Here’ (1975), inspired by Pink Floyd; ‘Pittsburgh’ (1986), a tribute to Pop Art and Andy Warhol; and ‘Dial-Up Dream’ (1995), referencing the birth of the Web.
Other themed drinks include ‘The Golden Fellowship’ (2001), inspired by The Lord of the Rings; ‘Blue Sky’ (2006), commemorating Italy’s World Cup victory; ‘Expo Milano’ (2015); and ‘Olympian’ (2026), an interpretation of the Negroni inspired by the Milano Cortina games. The menu also retains classic signatures such as ‘El Milanes’, which incorporates ingredients like saffron and shallot to reinterpret Milanese risotto.
