Hotel Teuta undergoes luxury renovation in Risan

The renovated Hotel Teuta in Risan, now operating under the Mövenpick brand, has completed its transformation into a luxury five-star establishment. The project focuses on integrating modern luxury with the natural landscape of the Bay of Kotor, utilizing materials and designs that complement the surrounding mountains and sea rather than dominating them.

The hotel's history reflects the economic transition of the region. Originally opened in 1983 under HTP ‘Onogošt’, the property underwent privatization in 2002 and later faced bankruptcy in 2012. Following several unsuccessful sales attempts, the hotel was purchased in late 2014 for 6.51 million euros by the Kotor-based company Yu Briv, now known as Briv Construction. The renovation required navigating complex procedures due to the hotel's location within a UNESCO-protected area.
