Hotel Urashima launches major Nisshokan renewal in Wakayama
Hotel Urashima, located in Nanki Katsuura Onsen, Wakayama Prefecture, has launched a major renewal of its Nisshokan facility to mark its 70th anniversary. The renovation is the first phase of a 4 billion yen investment project aimed at enhancing the brand and supporting regional development.
Key updates to the Nisshokan include a redesigned main dining area featuring a live kitchen and ocean views, as well as the renovation of 78 seaside guest rooms. The facility has also introduced nine latest check-in machines to streamline service and transformed its former convenience store into a sophisticated lounge. A connecting walkway between the Nisshokan and the main building has been rebranded as the ‘Sea Tunnel’ to simulate an underwater experience.
Owned by the Japan Co-Creation Platform (JPIX), the hotel aims to leverage its potential to become a global destination while continuing to contribute to the revitalization of the Nanki region.
