Hotel Weitzer awarded Styrian Coat of Arms

Hotel Weitzer, a family-run establishment in Graz, has been awarded the Styrian Coat of Arms. Styrian Governor Mario Kunasek presented the honor to owner Florian Weitzer during a ceremony on October 16, 2026.

The award recognizes the hotel's regional roots, long-standing history, and entrepreneurial achievements. While the site has hosted hospitality businesses since 1680, the Weitzer family has managed the hotel under its current name since 1910.

In addition to its historical significance, the hotel was cited for its commitment to vocational training and modern development. Since 1991, the business has trained 386 apprentices and currently employs 116 people. Recent updates include the redesign of the ‘Der Steirer’ restaurant and the conversion of many rooms into the ‘Dream Machine’ concept.
