Indonesian lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea has publicly addressed his strained relationship with his son, Frank Hutapea. The tension reportedly intensified over the past year following Frank's criticism of his father's decision to serve as legal counsel for former official Febrie Adriansyah.

In a social media post, Hotman reflected on his early career in 1982 at the OC Kaligis law firm, noting he earned only Rp200,000 per month and relied on public buses. He contrasted his humble beginnings with Frank's current lifestyle, noting that Frank benefited from a stable career foundation, legal education in Indonesia and London, and access to luxury vehicles and social circles.
