Houma, Louisiana stabbings leave four dead and one juvenile injured
A series of stabbing attacks in Houma, Louisiana, has left at least four people dead and a juvenile in critical condition. The incidents occurred near the 200 block of Ashland Drive in Terrebonne Parish.
Authorities from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office identified 47-year-old Kaegan Jude Solet as a person of interest during the initial investigation. Solet, who has a history of violent incidents including a 2019 arrest for an alleged stabbing, was later taken into custody in connection with the recent deaths.
The investigation began after deputies discovered a juvenile suffering from apparent stab wounds, who was subsequently airlifted to an out-of-area hospital. As detectives searched the surrounding area, they discovered multiple deceased victims inside nearby homes. The identities of the victims and a potential motive have not yet been released.
