House Freedom Caucus faces membership shifts and Senate criticism

The House Freedom Caucus is facing a period of significant transition as at least 10 of its more than two dozen members are not returning for the next term, with more potentially losing their seats in November. This shift may signal an ideological evolution for the Republican Party as influential founders and members who rose to prominence during the Trump administration depart.

Simultaneously, members of the conservative group are criticizing the U.S. Senate for failing to act on over 650 bills passed by the House of Representatives. Lawmakers, including Representatives Keith Self and Paul Gosar, have accused the Senate of complacency, claiming that legislation ranging from bipartisan measures to the Trump-aligned SAVE America Act has been allowed to stall without substantive action.
