House Republicans are racing to pass a $95 billion budget reconciliation package, dubbed “Reconciliation 3.0,” before a five‑week August recess. The plan allocates roughly $73 billion for defense and intelligence, $12 billion for agriculture, and $10 billion for election‑security grants, along with funding for the Save America Act and other Trump‑backed priorities. Speaker Mike Johnson says the measure is the GOP’s best chance to enact its agenda while it holds the White House, Senate and House. Because the GOP holds only a narrow majority, Johnson can lose no more than three Republican votes, and hard‑line members have threatened to block the vote.
