House Hunter launches buyer-exclusive real estate startup in Brazil

House Hunter, a new Brazilian startup founded by Theo Girolamo, is introducing a 'buyer’s agent' model to the country. Unlike traditional real estate agencies that represent sellers or maintain their own property portfolios, House Hunter focuses exclusively on the interests of the buyer.

The company utilizes artificial intelligence to conduct market searches, perform curation, handle legal analysis, and manage negotiations. The startup is initially targeting medium and high-end real estate buyers on the coast of Santa Catarina, with plans to expand to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Curitiba in its second phase. House Hunter projects it will intermediate R$ 37.5 million in real estate transactions during its first year.

This launch coincides with growth in the Brazilian residential market. According to the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry (CBIC), 110,722 residential units were sold in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 4.1% increase over the same period in 2025.
