The UK House of Commons rejected over 51 million malicious emails between July 2023 and May 2026, according to data obtained via a Freedom of Information request and analyzed by the Parliament Street think tank. The rejected communications, which likely included phishing attempts, malware, and spam, showed a steady upward trend, increasing by nearly 20% over the three-year period.

Annual rejection figures rose from 15,973,452 in 2023–2024 to 16,272,909 in 2024–2025, and finally to 18,899,058 in 2025–2026. Experts noted that such high volumes of hostile activity highlight the necessity for robust cyber resilience and data discipline within public sector institutions to prevent operational disruptions and reputational damage.
