House of Commons to vote on assisted suicide legislation
The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is set to undergo a second reading and vote in the House of Commons on Friday, 11 September. The legislation aims to permit assisted suicide.
Opponents of the bill have expressed concerns regarding the potential pressure placed on vulnerable individuals to end their lives, the impact on the consciences of health and social care staff, and the need for increased funding for palliative care.
