House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres June 21 2026 on HBO Max
The third season of HBO’s “House of the Dragon” will debut on the streaming service HBO Max on Sunday, June 21 2026, with the Sky broadcast in Europe following a day later on June 22. The season consists of eight episodes released weekly.
The storyline returns to the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, featuring the escalating conflict between Rhaenyra Targaryen’s supporters and King Aegon II’s faction, including the pivotal sea battle dubbed the “Battle in the Gurgle.” Showrunner Ryan Condal explained that the extended production schedule reflects the high‑budget, film‑level scale of each season.
The announced cast reprises major roles, such as Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower) and Rhys Ifans (Ser Otto Hightower), among many others.
