House of the Dragon season 3 premieres on HBO Max with 72‑minute opener

HBO Max’s prequel series *House of the Dragon* returns for a third season, scheduled to launch in late June 2026. The premiere episode runs 72 minutes, opening with the Battle of the Gullet, a decisive clash between the Green and Black factions of the Targaryen civil war.

A red‑carpet event was held at London’s Leicester Square, where a replica Iron Throne and large screens showcased the first episode. Cast members including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke and new arrivals such as Rhys Ifans and James Norton attended. The season will comprise eight episodes released weekly, continuing the storyline from the books *Fire & Blood* and the earlier series installments.
