House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres with Battle of the Gullet
The third season of HBO’s *House of the Dragon* launches on 21 June 2026 (HBO Max) and will run for eight episodes, released weekly on Sundays at 22:00 BRT (10 PM local time). The schedule runs through early August, concluding with the final episode on 9 August.
Episode 1 centers on the Battle of the Gullet, a large‑scale naval and aerial clash between the Black faction supporting Queen Rhaenyra and the Green faction aligned with the Triarchy. Key participants include Lord Corlys Velaryon’s fleet and dragonriders Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, Baela Targaryen, Addam of Hull, Hugh Hammer, Ulf the White and Daemon Targaryen on the Black side, versus Prince Aemond Targaryen and his dragon Vhagar leading the Greens.
Early reviews praise the season’s pacing and spectacle, giving it a perfect 100 % score on Rotten Tomatoes. The showrunner Ryan Condal has warned that the season will be darker and that the storyline follows the dramatic events described in George R. R. Martin’s *Fire & Blood*.
