Household cleaning methods for shower cabins and ink stains

Common household items can be used to address specific cleaning challenges, such as limescale in shower cabins and ink stains on clothing.

To remove limescale and soap residue from shower glass, a solution of equal parts fresh lemon juice and warm water can be applied via a spray bottle. Allowing the solution to sit for 5 to 10 minutes helps dissolve mineral deposits. For more stubborn spots, baking soda applied with a soft sponge can be used, followed by a thorough rinse with clean water.

For ink stains on fabric, experts suggest rapid intervention. Rubbing alcohol is effective for fresh ballpoint pen ink or certain permanent markers. The process involves applying alcohol to the stain—either via a pipette with a paper towel underneath or by soaking the area if the fabric allows—and gently blotting to absorb the ink. After treatment, the item should be rinsed with cold water and pre-treated with a stain remover before washing.
