Household cleaning techniques for surfaces and glass

Effective household cleaning requires proper dilution and technique to avoid damaging surfaces like stainless steel, lacquer, or glass. To prevent streaks and residue, dish soap should be diluted—ideally 2 to 3 drops per 500 ml of warm water—rather than applied directly to surfaces. Using a soft microfiber cloth and rinsing with clean water before drying is recommended to prevent a film that attracts dust.

For glass surfaces such as windows, mirrors, and shower screens, adding a teaspoon of glycerin to one liter of warm water can extend cleanliness. This mixture creates a thin, antistatic layer that repels water droplets and limits the adhesion of dust and dirt. This method is noted as an eco-friendly alternative to harsh chemicals and can also help reduce fogging on glass surfaces.
