Household cleaning tips using vinegar and common items

Various household cleaning methods can be achieved using simple, economical ingredients found at home.

For floor maintenance, a mixture of white vinegar and bay leaves serves as an effective cleaning agent. The vinegar acts to remove grease and daily dirt, while the bay leaves provide a natural, herbal scent that masks the vinegar's sharp odor and offers antibacterial properties. It is recommended to dilute the mixture in warm water rather than applying it concentrated, and it should be avoided on acid-sensitive surfaces like marble or unvarnished wood.

To clean window frames, particularly those with stubborn dirt or stains, dissolving two dishwasher tablets in three liters of warm water can be effective. For yellowed window frames, a solution of water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio can be used as a safer alternative to bleach, which may damage the frames.
