Household hack suggests using dishwashers to clean white sneakers
To maintain white sneakers without damaging them in a washing machine, experts suggest using a dishwasher instead. Washing machines can strain the fabric, glue, and shape of the shoes due to high-speed spinning, and metal eyelets may scratch the drum.
For effective cleaning in a dishwasher, users should first remove coarse dirt with a brush and take out the insoles. The shoes should be placed upside down in the top rack. It is recommended to use a mild, ecological detergent tab rather than aggressive powders. To protect the material, an eco-program or short cycle with a maximum temperature of 40 °C is ideal, followed by air drying.
