While some consumers worry about bacteria, pollutants, or metals, studies by the SGS Institut Fresenius and the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) suggest that certified devices do not release harmful substances in significant quantities. Furthermore, re-boiling the water to 100°C effectively kills any potential bacteria that may have developed in standing water.
