Houses of Parliament to host filming for Netflix drama

Production company Bad Wolf will film scenes for a new Netflix drama, titled ‘The Lords’ Day’, around the Houses of Parliament and the River Thames on 22 and 23 August. The production is an adaptation of a novel by Michael Dobbs and follows a British spy during a hostage siege at the Palace of Westminster during the State Opening of Parliament.

Members of the public may observe actors portraying armed police, specialist vehicles, and simulated emergency responses in the area. A UK Parliament spokesperson confirmed the filming is a licensed, controlled, and authorised production, noting that there is no actual emergency on the parliamentary estate.
