Housing construction starts on Vlietkade in Bodegraven and De Nieuwe Kethelpoort in Schiedam

Thunnissen marked the start of the Vlietkade residential project in Bodegraven on 14 April 2026. The development will provide 67 homes and apartments, including a substantial share of affordable units, on the former Versluys site. The municipality, provincial deputy and local councillor attended the ceremony and highlighted new cycling and pedestrian links and additional parking.

In Schiedam, councilor Dave Bouts and partners inaugurated work on De Nieuwe Kethelpoort, a mixed-use neighbourhood on the former LTS site. The plan comprises 156 apartments, 14 town‑houses, a loft building with 20 units, commercial space and a wood‑clad green parking garage, aiming to increase sustainable and affordable housing options in the city.
