Housing developments advance in Chubut and Concepción

In Chubut, Argentina, several municipalities are preparing for new housing developments. In Trelew, the first 68 Procrear units for Chubut Police personnel will be delivered on October 30, with subsequent deliveries every ten days. Puerto Madryn expects a lottery for 114 nearly completed homes, while Dolavon is resuming work on 41 houses previously stalled by national funding cuts. Additionally, an agreement was signed in Esquel to build 60 homes for essential workers in Valle Chico, with construction slated for early 2027.

In Concepción, Chile, the Biobío Environmental Evaluation Commission has unanimously approved the Sandra Oliva I and II housing project. The development will consist of 500 apartments across 13 five-story towers located in the Paicaví-Tucapel Bajo sector. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2027. While the project received a favorable environmental qualification, the Municipality of Concepción has noted it may take further action following technical evaluations, reflecting previous tensions regarding the protection of the Paicaví wetland.
